Some general information about items that I sell in my shop or on my site.
Polymer Clay Beads
All of my beads are made from mainly Premo and sometimes a combination of Fimo or Sculpey III clays. They are baked according to the manufacturer’s instructions or sometimes longer. All my beads are sanded through various grits and then buffed to a high gloss unless I feel that the ‘look’ of the bead calls for a matte finish.
Polymer clay is a durable product, but can be damaged if handled improperly. Recommended cleaning methods are to wipe gently with a soft cloth or with warm water and a gentle soap. Keep perfume, hair spray and other chemicals away from the beads as there may be a chemical reaction.
Crocheted Items
I mainly use Red Heart yarn for crocheting afghans and other items from yarn. Thread crochet is made with either Aunt Lydia’s Classic thread or J. P. Coats. Designs may be from current patterns I have purchased or from my library of crochet books from the 1930’s – 1960’s.
Quilted Items
My late mother made baby quilts in her last years. A few years ago, I became a great aunt and decided it was time to carry on with my mother’s quilt making. My baby quilts are made with cotton fronts and a soft, flannel back. The quilts have a combination of machine sewing (blocks) and hand sewing. The designs are hand embroidered.
